Rhonda Serafin empowered thousands of learners over the course of her more than three decades with District 214 Community Education, working diligently and tirelessly to improve the lives and educational opportunities for adults in our communities and providing entire families the promise of a brighter future.

In honor of her June 2018 retirement, the Foundation announced the Serafin Fund for Adult Education and Family Literacy, dedicated to the continued enhancement of opportunities and services that have educated generations under her leadership. The fund will cover areas including Read to Learn and the Catherine M. Lee Women's and Children's Center, with an eye on providing additional resources and success to enthusiastic learners where the need is greatest.
