YOU CAN BUILD A DREAM

Imagine not being able to speak to your family about their everyday lives. That was Sakiko’s reality before she joined Read To Learn. Because of the program, she is now able to speak to her son about his engineering program studies at the University of Illinois and to her husband about their son’s schooling. She also can read emails she receives from the university -- something that previously was impossible. She can participate in every moment of life.

Your gift can fund victories like these -- things so many take for granted.

For more than 35 years, Read to Learn has fueled dreams and opportunities, helping 13,000 adult learners improve their English skills or learn to read, and training over 6,200 volunteers. For more than three decades, you have helped adults in our community unlock their true potential. You created success stories.

Read to Learn is funded in part through grants, but a significant funding need remains. We enthusiastically invite you to help us continue providing this service. Contributions assist with program materials, fiction and nonfiction books, newspapers written for English language learners, and continued efforts to improve lives. We know you share our belief that lifelong education empowers generations of learners and entire communities.
